St. Augustine, Fla. – August 17, 2022 -The Take Stock in Children program, managed by Investing in Kids (INK!), has been selected by the 1905 Family of Restaurants to benefit from the 25th Annual Community Harvest. During the month of September, the company will donate five percent of all diners’ checks to charities selected by the guests while dining at any the company’s restaurant locations across Florida.
Local Columbia Restaurant patrons can support Take Stock in Children (TSIC) through the month-long fundraiser themed, Eat Well. Do Good., by voting for Take Stock in Children as the non-profit of the diner’s choice on the ballot provided during lunch and dinner. When TSIC is selected, the hospitality company will donate five percent of diners’ checks to TSIC.
The program has provided more than $3 million to non-profit organizations throughout Florida. Community Harvest involves each of the Columbia locations, including the local Columbia Restaurant at 98 St. George Street in historic, downtown St. Augustine.
“We are honored that the Take Stock in Children program, managed by INK!, has been chosen as one of the organizations to benefit from the Community Harvest program,” said Donna Lueders, INK! Executive Director. “INK!’s Take Stock in Children program will receive food and beverage gift certificates which we will share with St. Johns County Take Stock in Children graduates, volunteer mentors and dedicated supporters.”
“We started this program as a way to help many of the worthy non-profit groups that are so important to our communities,” said 4th generation family member and president Richard Gonzmart. “I can’t believe how much it has grown in 25 years. We’re excited this year to extend the ballots and gift certificates to all our restaurant concepts, which should provide a real increase in our donations to the charities.”
Gonzmart said the process is simple: Dine at one of the 1905 Family Of Restaurants during the month of September. Choose a charity from a ballot that is provided with your check. The restaurant calculates five percent and provides the charity with gift certificates that can be used at any of the restaurants. There is no additional cost to the guest.
