Teachers are our heroes!

INK! honors extraordinary educators with annual Teacher of the Year program and awards ceremony

What is the Teacher of the Year?

Each year, INK! leads the annual countywide Teacher of the Year program, culminating in celebration and awards gala.

This annual event celebrates not only the educators nominated to represent each school in St. Johns County, but all the outstanding professionals who educate, inspire, and invest in our students every day.

Goals of the Teacher of the Year program and celebration include:

  • Recognize and honor excellence in teaching across St. Johns County
  • Elevate and support current St. Johns County teachers
  • Inspire future educators
  • Create greater public awareness of and support for our INK!credible teachers and the teaching profession

The educator named as St. Johns County District Teacher of the Year represents St. Johns County in the State of Florida Teacher of the Year Program. The St. Johns County District Teacher of the Year participates in a yearlong professional development and leadership program with Teachers of the Year from around the state.

The Teacher of the Year program is funded by donations from community members and local businesses.

Consider donating today to help us keep this important tradition alive.

Andrew Burk

“The school year has been challenging in many ways. Yet, it has provided us with a unique opportunity to reflect on our teaching practices and think about our relationships with our students. And it reminds us that what matters most is to help students truly engage in their own learning experiences. I am honored and humbled to receive such an amazing distinction as Teacher of the Year.”
