INK! launches 2024 Tools 4 Schools school supply collection for St. Johns County public school teachers and students
On July 1, INK! launched the annual Tools 4 Schools community supply drive to provide essential classroom supplies to St. Johns County public school teachers and students for the 2024-2025 school year. Community and business collection drives are scheduled across St. Johns County through August 31 to prepare for the start of the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Tools 4 Schools is a community-based classroom supply initiative that seeks to reduce out-of-pocket expenses for educators and ensure that both teachers and students have the tools they need to be successful in the classroom. Every summer, INK! and community partners host an annual countywide school supply drive to restock the supply store for the coming school year. Individuals, organizations, and businesses are welcome to participate by hosting a Tools 4 Schools collection bin, donating supplies, and volunteering to help sort and distribute supplies to teachers.
During the 2023-2024 School Year, INK! filled and delivered over 2,200 supply orders requested by teachers distributing over $135,000 in supplies to classrooms across the county.
The 2024 Tools 4 Schools Collection Drive Runs July 1 through August 31, 2024
The Tools 4 Schools program is made possible by annual donations from supporters like The Bailey Group, THE PLAYERS, and Staples as well as local businesses, churches, and community organizations that host collection drives including David Weekly Homes, Northrop Grumman, Panache Salon & Day Spa, Solar Stik, the St. Johns County Tax Collector, St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, and VyStar Credit Union.
For over a decade, the Tools 4 Schools program has operated out of The Bailey Group Resource Depot, a permanent location which provides storage for the supplies collected during the Tools 4 Schools summer drives and throughout the year. During the school year, teachers order supplies online and orders are filled and delivered by INK! staff and volunteers to schools.
