This week, Take Stock in Children St. Johns student, Jun Pan, traveled to Tallahassee with his family and INK!’s Take Stock College Success Coach, Mike Michel, for a special reception honoring 6 Florida Take Stock students chosen for the prestigious Leaders 4 Life fellowship program.
Sponsored by the Asofsky Family Foundation in partnership with Take Stock in Children of Florida, the Leaders for Life (L4L) fellowship program seeks to enable highly motivated Take Stock in Children Scholars who have demonstrated strong leadership skills, moral character, and academic success, to excel in a university environment by providing them with the tools and resources necessary to empower then to develop to their fullest potential. L4L strives to eliminate the financial burdens normally associated with a university education and allow the fellows to devote 100% of their attention to their studies and personal development.
Each year, over 100 Take Stock students apply for the L4L fellowship. Following a competitive selection process, only 6 students are selected for the honor. The L4L fellowship provides funds for housing, meal plans, computers, books, supplies, and all other college-related expenses, as well as leadership training and internship opportunities. Jun is an active member of the Bartram Trail Architecture Academy, Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), and the National Honor Society. He frequently volunteers at the SEA community center, World of Nation, and local library. He is a talented artist, accomplished in charcoal, Indian ink, design, collage, and architectural images.
Jun will attend the University of Florida in the Fall of 2024 to study Architecture. During the summer of 2023, Jun interned with Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, an opportunity made possible through a partnership between Carlisle and INK!
We are incredibly proud of Jun and excited for the opportunities the L4L fellowship will afford him. Congratulations, Jun!
